Overview

What to Know

Landscape installation is where planning becomes reality. Whether you've worked with us to develop a landscape design or already know exactly what you'd like to install, our goal is to create an outdoor space that complements your home, fits your property's layout, and remains practical to maintain over time.

Every installation begins with evaluating the existing conditions of the property. We assess grading, drainage, sunlight exposure, existing vegetation, utilities, and access to determine the best installation approach before work begins. If a design has already been completed, we follow the approved layout. If not, we'll work from your vision and provide recommendations based on the property and your goals.

We install a wide range of landscape and outdoor features, including shrubs, ornamental trees, flowers, landscape beds, patios, walkways, mulch, decorative stone, edging, and other improvements designed to enhance both the appearance and functionality of your property. Plant material can be supplied by the homeowner or sourced through our network of trusted local nurseries, allowing us to recommend healthy, locally adapted varieties that perform well in New England growing conditions.

Every installation is completed with long-term plant health and workmanship in mind. Proper spacing, planting depth, soil preparation, grading, and finishing all contribute to an outdoor space that not only looks great on installation day but continues to perform well for years to come.

What to Expect

Our Process

1

Initial Consultation

We begin by discussing your goals, reviewing the project area, confirming the desired scope of work, and identifying any existing landscape features that should remain or be removed.

2

Site Evaluation & Preparation

The work area is evaluated for grading, drainage, utilities, access, and existing site conditions. Existing vegetation or unwanted materials are removed as needed, and the installation area is prepared according to the approved project scope.

3

Material Procurement

Plants and materials are sourced through trusted local suppliers or installed using homeowner-supplied materials when requested. Deliveries are inspected upon arrival to verify quality before installation begins.

4

Installation

Plants are installed at the appropriate planting depth with spacing based on their mature size rather than their container size. Landscape beds are shaped and finished, and hardscape features are installed according to the approved layout.

5

Finishing

Landscape beds are edged where applicable and finished with mulch or decorative stone, typically installed at a depth of approximately 1.5 to 2 inches while keeping material away from the base of shrubs and tree trunks.

6

Final Cleanup & Walkthrough

Once installation is complete, excess materials are removed, all hard surfaces are blown clean, and the finished project is reviewed with you to ensure everything was completed according to the approved scope.

Did You Know?

Many landscape problems begin years after installation — not because of the plants themselves, but because they were planted too deeply or too closely together. We install plants with their mature size and long-term health in mind, helping reduce overcrowding and encouraging healthier growth as your landscape develops.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a landscape design before installation?

No. If you already know what you'd like to install, we can work directly from your ideas. For larger renovations or complete landscape transformations, a landscape design is recommended to help visualize the finished project before installation begins.

Can I supply my own plants?

Yes. We can install healthy homeowner-supplied plant material or source plants through our network of trusted local nurseries.

How do you determine plant spacing?

Plants are spaced according to their mature growth habits rather than their nursery container size. This allows each plant sufficient room to develop without becoming overcrowded over time.

Do you install patios and walkways?

Yes. Patio and walkway installations are available as part of larger landscape installation projects, constructed using proper excavation, base preparation, grading, and finishing techniques.

Will my property be cleaned after the project?

Yes. Upon completion, planting areas are cleaned, excess materials are removed, and all driveways, sidewalks, patios, and other hard surfaces are thoroughly blown clean before the final walkthrough.
